Khao Sok village or Cheow Lan Lake?

A forest stay and a floating bungalow are different bases. Book the place that matches your activities and meeting point.
Two bases, two experiences
Accommodation around Khlong Sok is on land, near the village and forest side of the destination. A Cheow Lan raft-house night is reached by boat and usually sold with a defined programme. Booking a village hotel does not book a night on the lake.
For a forest stay, compare access to the village, the room’s cooling and your transfer arrangements. For the lake, compare boat transport, meals, bathroom and the actual raft house.
Combining both
A night before the lake can give you more flexibility for the meeting time. A night after can separate the boat journey from your onward travel. Check the pickup point before deciding which side to stay on.
Avoid booking a second room for a night already included in the tour unless you intentionally want luggage storage or an unused room. Ask the first hotel about luggage storage and its conditions.
The dam side
A land-based stay around Ban Ta Khun or Ratchaprapha may suit a lake departure. It is not the same base as the Khao Sok village area. Ask for a quote to the exact office or pier: proximity to the dam is not a confirmed transfer.
Choose in this order
Set the lake tour meeting point, decide how many separate nights you need, then choose the land accommodation. See our hotel selection for three different bases, with direct sources rather than assumed transfer times.
